The City of Biloxi is planning for the replacement of the Popp’s Ferry Bridge and the widening of Popp’s Ferry Road from the Margaret Sherry Library to Pass Road. A toll bridge is under consideration.
The city is supporting a “super-sized limited access” road for both the Popp’s Ferry Bridge and Popp’s Ferry Road widening North to the Margaret Sherry Library and South to Pass Rd.
This project will have a significant adverse impact on surrounding neighborhoods and property values.
Businesses on the North side of the Popp’s Ferry bridge will be adversely affected if the follow-on plans to build a connector come to fruition.
Residents need to become informed about what is being planned and provide input into the decision-making process.
